This panda gourd purse was 15 years in the making. I have had this painting for that long, looking for a place to recreate them. I was at a friend's gourd farm and saw this canteen gorud and KNEW what was to go on it. Went home that evening and by noon the next day it was finished. This panda gourd purse is the reason I have entered it in the 2002 Ala. Gourd Show. Great joy is found in the hours it takes, using nature's bounty to create an almost forgotten art of blending common place materials of nature in variations of beauty and usefulness. Enjoy the natural fragrance and think of a quiet place just beyond...... This is how I feel about the wonderful art form I truly enjoy doing. Pine needles are trash to most people, but to me, I see what can be.
